The goal of this UX Design project is to enable users to follow and support their favourite artists beyond the merch table by providing a one-stop shop for official merchandise, tickets and NFTs. Effectiveness was measured by tracking user signups and purchases.

A key challenge developing a highly-creative portal that features exclusive and official merchandise for fans around the world. We uncovered the need for a concert finder functionality through our testing.

I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand user needs. This group confirmed initial assumptions about Merch Booth customers but research also revealed that the site and images had to be beautiful. Another problem indentified included getting tickets for the shows they want to go to - which will be further researched in future iterations.

After researching the market, it was clear that MerchBar, the main competitor in the space, is well known for its thourough database but lacks a branded experience. Most users use sites like Ebay or in-person merch booths and this information helped us design more personalized characteristics to products, artists and even NFTs.

Competitor sites lack clear user flows, so it was important to categorize the product information in commonly used ways. Separating MUSIC from other physical merch allowed us to free more screen space on smaller devices while allowing us to keep the designs beautiful and clean. The community feature is the most difficult element to integrate for each artist and product and would require permissions when the user uploads.
